HORSERIDING
4 hours of riding per day, supervised by qualified coaches from the British Horse Society ; a pony or horse is given to each student, who has to take care of it, or for the younger children, learns to take care of it. The riding programme depends on the ages and the levels: jumping, horseball matches, hacking, treasure hunt on horseback, "picnic ride" and a competition at the end of the week. |
ACTIVITIES
In the evening, swimming in town, or dip in the one at the centre, campfires and songs, barbecue, disco; in short, a holiday in English!
MOBILE PHONES
Maureen, the director of the centre, has perfectly summed up the problems with mobile phones that worried (!) parents give to their children. She says : "Please do not let your child bring a mobile phone ! Leave it at home. The reason is simple. Children who are not often away from home, tend to phone home in the late evening; Mummy and Daddy tell them what is going on at home, how their gerbil is missing them, how the dog is longing to see them, how sad the goldfish looks without them, what little sister was given today, how mummy can't wait to get them home again ....and the child is instantly homesick!!"
